According to a December 6, 2014, article in the Whidbey News Times, Deception Pass State Park still most-visited state park; 2014 a record year, a whopping 2.7 million persons visited the park this year! Those who did, at most traversed, and at least photographed (likely both) the Deception Pass Bridge. In the parking lot at the south end of the bridge, you’ll find information about it, and Deception Pass, like that shown on this sign:
Although I’ve traveled across it thousands of times, I’ve only photographed it about a dozen. Fog, but not too much (this is definitely too much) makes for a great shot.
Opening day of fishing season.
View from North Beach.
View from a Deception Pass Tours boat.
These are all shots that thousands of persons have probably taken, but one day while I was hiking under the bridge along the Goose Rock trails, the light was perfect for me to notice this great view from the south end looking north. From the parking lot at the south end, walk down the stairs and turn right. You can’t miss it.
